
The head of Isamo Quarter , Odo Ado , Ado – Ekiti, High Chief Abiodun Akinyede, has lauded the tourism vision of Dr John Kayode Fayemi and his interest in preserving iconic houses and monuments in Ekiti State.
High Chief Akinyede made this observation when the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Development, Ambassador Wale Ojo – Lanre visited the first all-stone private house erected in Ado Ekiti.
High Chief Akinyede said that the posture of Governor John Kayode Fayemi to the socio-cultural tourism development of the state is not only impressive but commendable because it strives to showcase for posterity the relevance of the past for the present and its significance for the future .
High Chief Akinyede pointed out that the move by Dr Fayemi on the identification and preservation of iconic houses as monuments is a testimony that he respects and appreciates developmental strides and recognises the labour of our heroes past.
Chief Asamo said the family of late Akinyede and the entire members of Isamo quarter are happy for the recognition by the government of the little contribution and value which their forefathers were able to add to the development of Ado Ekiti.

He disclosed that the stone house was built between 1944-1949 by the late High Chief Philip Akinyede who was the then Baba Egbe of Catholic Church of Ekiti and Asamo of Odo Ado.
Chief Akinyede assured Governor Fayemi of the support and collaboration of the entire members of the late Akinyede and Isamo quarters on the enhancement of the first private house built with stone in Ado Ekiti.
