Over 13,000 NSCDC Officers Are Trained On Election Security-Muhammadu

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it has trained over 13,000 personnel on election security and monitoring in an era of COVID-19.

Commandant General of the Corps, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu who stated this in Abuja said the officers would be deployed to Saturday’s Edo state governorship election and that of Ondo state coming up in October.

Mr Muhammadu explained that the Corps as a critical election stakeholder in the country and it was necessary to synergize with Sister agencies to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

He advised politicians and electorates to conduct themselves within the limit of the electoral guidelines as anyone found contravening the law will be arrested and prosecuted.
