Current chairman of Lagos State Football Coaches Association, Fredrick Yamala has explained why he is not coming out to contest for the seat of chairmanship position in the forthcoming elections of the association.
Yamala in a telephone chat with our correspondent said he is not contesting because he has national assignment with would not give him a chance to function well as chairman of the association.
“ I have had enough in the Lagos Stat Football Coaches Association. I have other assignments with Nigeria Polytechnic Games, NIPOGA and I want to focus more on other personal businesses so I think I need to give others chance to succeed me because I have had enough as chairman of the association,” he said.
Commenting if he supports any candidate, Yamala said he is not in his character to back a candidate in an election of this magnitude urging all the candidates to exhibit spirit of sportsmanship during their campaign and shun campaign of calumny.
“I am not supporting any candidate because all the candidates are my friends. As a chairman of the association all I want is peaceful election and I don’t want crisis during my tenure. Like I said before if Lagos can get it right, other states would follow, if it otherwise, I think, there might be problems in other states so I am doing everything within my capacity to ensure that all candidates are given level playing ground, “ he said.
The elections of Lagos State Football Coaches Association would hold in August with three candidates battling for chairmanship seat. They are David Dosu, Tairu Hassan and Ifeany Ikpo Moses.
