Katy Perry has become the latest mama in town as she and Orlando Bloom welcomes baby girl together.
Perry has been hinting on names to give her daughter before she was even born and she chose to name her Daisy Dove Bloom.
Katy Perry and fiancee Orlando Bloom who are both Goodwill Ambassadors for the United Nations Children’s Fund, let UNICEF introduce their bundle of joy to the world, though they didn’t provide details of the birth.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the proud parents said in an exclusive statement to the United Nations agency.
Perry and Bloom used their personal milestone to call attention to underprivileged mothers and children who don’t have access to quality medical care, especially during the pandemic.
“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes,” the couple said.
Their statement continued: “Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk. … As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts.”
Perry and Bloom created a donation page to support UNICEF in “celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has.”
Perry and Bloom sparked dating rumors in January 2016, when they were seen dancing together at a Golden Globes after party. The two were then spotted on vacations and a number of dates together, before the pop singer made their relationship Instagram official in May 2016. In early 2017, the pair briefly split before reconnecting by the end of the year.
In February 2019, the couple Perry and bloom were officially engaged and a year later, Perry announced her pregnancy in her “Never Worn White” music video.
The couple announced the gender of their firstborn back in April with a pink shaving cream covered Instagram post.
