Katsina State government has approved the re-opening of public and private primary and secondary schools in the state with effect from Monday, 5th October.
The State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Badamasi Charanchi announced this at a news briefing in Katsina.
He explained that this was to enable the schools conclude the second term of 2019/2020 academic session, which is scheduled to end on 23rd October.
The commissioner said approval has also been given for the commencement of the third term session from 26th October 2020 to 5th February 2021 in order to cover the session’s syllabus in good time.
He noted that schools across the state have been directed to strictly observe preventive measures against COVID-19, particularly the use of hand sanitizers, wearing of face masks and observance of social distancing among pupils and students.
