Chairman Depros Fooball Club of Lagos, Emeka Godson Ehirim has revealed that Gateway FC left winger,Felistus Julius Ikechukwu is ripe to play for home based Eagles despite the fact that he is playing in lower division league. Ikechukwu scored the only goal to send Akwa United out of Aiteo Challenge Cup.
Ehirim told our correspondent that he was not surprised with ikechukwu performance against Akwa United in Aiteo boasted that his best is yet to come.
Ehirim described his player as a committed and disciplined footballer who is hungry for success.”When i watched ikechukwu performance against Akwa United,I was impressed and concluded in my mind that this young lad is matured to be invited for home based Eagles not because he is my player but his performance has caught the attention of many Nigerian football fans,”he said.
The club chairman said ikechukwu was loaned to Gateway FC noted that he still have a contract with Depros FC.He disclosed that Ikechukwu has a brighter future and he is one of the players one can watch out for in Aiteo Challenge Cup.
He said if Ikechukwu continues on his good performance,he would quickly invite to senior national team in the nearest future.
“Like I said, ikechukwu is ripe to feature for senior national team.when he was with Depros FC,he is one of the players who can go far as far as football is concerned.My advice for him is to remain focused and give his best in future matches,”he said.
Ehirim said many clubs both home and foreign clubs have shown interest in the player but noted that he is not in hurry to sell him to any club for now.
