The court proceeding for the extradition of Sunday Adeyemo, the Yoruba Nation agitator begins today in Cotonou, the capital of the Republic of Benin.

Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho is currently held by operatives of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou. He was arrested on Monday night while attempting to fly to Germany with his wife, Ropo.

An earlier scheduled court hearing for Wednesday failed to hold as Igboho was not brought to Court for the hearing by the Beninoise authorities.

Igboho and his wife, Ropo were interrogated by the operatives of Brigade Criminelle before his scheduled appearance at the Cour d’Appel in Cotonou.

The court is expected to debate on the international arrest warrant issued against him.

If it is found to be in order, he’ll be extradited.
