Michael Ameh Oboni II served as the King of Igala Kingdom for 7 years.
Prince Idakwo Michael Ameh was born in Oboni in 1948.
He joined the Nigerian Airforce in 1968 but left service in 1974 based on his request.
Prince Idakwo worked briefly with the Ministry of Lands in the old Kwara state north central Nigeria as land inspection officer from 1974 to 1975.
He later resigned in 1975 to attend Kaduna Polytechnic in 1976 and graduated in 1980 having studied Estate Management.
In 1981, he took up an appointment with the Federal Capital Development Authority – FCDA and retired in 2006 as a deputy director.
Michael Ameh Oboni II is the only Attah in history who got just one wife.
He’s the number 27th to become the Attah of Igala.
The former governor of Kogi state, Idris Wada, approved his appointment as the new Attah Igala for 2013.
Di Attah in the first place, is the Priest King’. The Attah of Igala is the first king to play the two roles of a priest and also king of Igala kingdom.
He possesses land from the extreme south of the kingdom to the extreme north of the kingdom; same from the bank of the River Niger to the eastern boundary towards the east.
Aside that, the Attah has the power over the chiefs and the land resources in the kingdom.
