FC Robo Queen Striker, Monday Gift on Monday broke the hearts of Rivers Angels fans and officials as she scored late minute equalizer to cancel goal scored by Vivian Ikechukwu in the 47th minutes to end the pulsating encounter 1-1 in the Nigeria Women Football League Super 6 tournament which began on Monday at Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu- Ode, Ogun State.
Gift’s goal came in the 87th minutes when fans and officials of Rivers Angels thought the match was over until the equalizer came and the equaliser was described by football fans as heart breaking moments for Rivers Angels fans who were monitoring the game from Rivers State and other part of the country via social media.
Gift who was a delight to watch had made several attempts to hit the back of the net opponents in the encounter but her effort was rewarded when she connected across pass from Sade Ijamilusi and slotted in towards the full time to put the smile on the faces of FC Robo fans who came all the way from Lagos to cheer the team to victory.
Commenting on the match, Chief coach of FC Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon said it was a tough match but thanked God that the game ended in stalemate. He said his target now is to win their next match tomorrow (Tuesday) against Bayelsa Queens.
In her own comment, Gift said she was happy to get the equalizer when it was needed boasting that her teammates are ready to give Bayelsa Queens a run for their money when both teams clash for second match.
In the matches played so far, Edo Queens lost 1-2 to Delta Queens as Bayelsa Queens and Sunshine Queens played one goal apiece at the regulation time.
