How Arsenal’s Win Over Chelsea In FA Cup Final Affects European Places For Leicester, Tottenham

Arsenal on Saturday, won the FA Cup, thanks to a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

The Gunners started the game on the backfoot and allowed their London rivals to take the lead within five minutes.

Olivier Giroud flicked the ball into the path of Christian Pulisic, who dribbled past defenders and scored.

However, Arsenal were level before the break, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was pulled down in the box by Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Gabon striker made it 1-1 from the spot.

Aubameyang again proved to be the match winner for Mikel Arteta’s side, as he dribbled past Kurt Zouma and lifted the ball over Willy Caballero.

Arsenal remains the most successful side in the competition, having won it a record 14th time now.

With this Arsenal win, the gunners go straight to the group stages of next season’s Europa League.

They will be joined by Leicester City who finished fifth in the Premier League.

However, Tottenham Hotspur who ended up in sixth place, will enter in the third qualifying round on September 24.

Jose Mourinho’s men must play three one-off games to reach the group stages.
