Former US Ambassador, Walter Carrington Dies At 90

Former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Walter Carrington, has been confirmed dead.

His death was confirmed by his wife, Arese Carrington, on Wednesday.

Arese said her 90-year-old husband  died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday.

“It is with a heavy and broken heart but with gratitude to God for his life of selfless humanity that I announce the passing of my beloved husband Walter Carrington, former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria and Senegal,” She  said in the statement she issued.

Arese added that Walter was fortunate and his life had both length and depth, adding that further announcements will be made shortly.
