The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissociated itself from the statement made by former South West Publicity Secretary of the party, Ayo Fadaka that the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi should resign his position on moral grounds.
Fadaka made the statement in an interview he granted to Channels Television on Sunrise Daily.
In statement signed by Director of Media and Publicity of the party in the state, Zadok Akintoye, and made available to Independent Observers on Tuesday, said that the position expresed by Fadaka was his own and not that of the party.
“The Ondo state PDP wishes to dissociate itself from this statement and inform the general public that the position expressed by Mr. Ayo Fadaka does not represent the opinion of the PDP in Ondo state. H.E. Barr. Agboola Ajayi remains the Deputy Governor of the state and is not under any compulsion (either moral or legal) to resign his position,” the party said in one page statement.
Akintoye urged the general public to disregard this statement as it does not reflect the position of the party on this matter.
