A divisional police officer is among two policemen killed in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra state.radionigeria reports.
A large crowd, under the guise of ENDSARS protesters, attacked Amichi, Osumenyi, Ezinifite and Ukpor police divisions on Friday.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Muhammed, in a statement said the crowd also attacked Area command Oraifite, vandalized and set the facilities ablaze, while carting away exhibits.
He explained that the DPO of Osumenyi and two others were severely wounded.
The DPO and the station officer were confirmed dead by doctors while the third constable was responding to treatment, he said.
The statement said part of Awgbu Division was torched adding that the attack was subsequently repelled by the police in collaboration with members of the community.Six suspects were arrested, he added.
