Edo Decides: Wike Calls INEC To Protect Election Results

Edo 2020 PDP National Campaign Council Chairman, Governor Nyesom Wike has called on Independent National Electoral Commission and security personnel to protect results at collation points.

 He made the call while reacting to general conduct of Edo 2020 governorship election shortly after emerging from the PDP candidate’s Situation Room in Benin City.

Governor Wike emphasized that with the results from party agents across the state, he was satisfied thus far and called on INEC to maintain professionalism as it commenced the critical job of collation.

He also charged security personnel to beef up security around all collation points and allow the will of Edo electorate prevail.

The Edo 2020 PDP National Campaign Council Chairman however stressed that a final position would be given after INEC announced the final result officially.

He however commended the electoral umpire and security agencies for conducting a fair election and ensuring that the process was generally peaceful.

On the reported siege on his hotel room by security personnel on Friday night, Governor Wike said that was in the past and he had put the incident behind him.
