Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike has accused the national working committee of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of only being interested in extending their stay in office and not win elections in 2023.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with AIT on Friday, Wike accused the national working committee of causing division among PDP governors in its quest to actualise selfish ambition.
The governor said he will not fold his arms and allow anyone to destroy the PDP; saying he has no other party to go to.
Wike’s outburst may have confirmed fresh crisis brewing within the PDP.
It will be interesting to see how the party manage its latest internal crisis as it attempts to provide a credible alternative ahead of the 2023 general elections.
