2020 celebrations of the Ibe Day shall be most unique and interesting as its organizing committee constitutes prominent Chiefs and personalities of the Kingdom who are Arogbo based that understands the nitty gritty of the Arogbo Ijaw cultural and how the whole show goes.
The celebrations this year shall be also most unique because it coincides with the second year coronation anniversary of the very new king, His Imperial Majesty, Pere Doubra Zacheaus Egbunu, Opukutu III, The Agadagba of Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom. The king’s coronation anniversary shall no doubt make it more colorful and amazingly interesting.
Arogbo town, the traditional Headquarters of the Ibe shall be filled to the brims as visitors from other Ijaw Kingdoms will be coming to grace the cultural season as usual.
Visitors are expected from various Ijaw Kingdoms in Edo, Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States. Political juggernauts from Bayelsa State and the home Ondo State are all expected to grace the Kingdom as the season is being a political one in the sunshine state.
It is even an avenue to sell party candidates to voters of the kingdom against the October 10 gubernatorial election. It is expected that political parties will be on their party vests to canvas for votes, And that will no doubt add color to the Ibe Day.
I humbly wish to use this piece to invite sons, daughters and lovers of the peace loving Arogbo Ijaw people to the 20th Ibe Day celebrations and get acquainted with the uniqueness of the Arogbo Ijaw culture in the Yoruba dominated Ondo State.
And I also want to preach peace as the celebration is on going.
